Mainland China exported US$3 billion worth of tires in 2005 - up 55 percent
year-on-year, according to Global Sources' China Sourcing Report: Tires.

"In 2005, export prices jumped 16 percent," said Global Sources' General Manager of
Content Development, Michael Kleist. "Due to the rising cost of natural rubber, most
manufacturers have indicated further price increases in the months ahead." Among
surveyed manufacturers:

·13 percent plan to increase prices by more than 15 percent;

·54 percent plan to increase prices by 5-15 percent; and

· 33 percent expect to raise prices by up to 5 percent.
